Tuesday Poet — Reviews

Published by:

Today is Tuesday Poet,
And I have loads to say,
Watch this space and hear my rhyme,
So sit back and listen on this windy day,

The week started great,
It was promotions galore,
Reviews came flooding in,
And I asked for some more,

Who wouldn’t do the same?
They’re free after all,
Battery packs and food,
You know what I am saying y’all?

Oh my that turn of phrase,
Who knew it would be easy to replicate,
But it doesn’t matter as they say,
Signing on to Twitter to emulate.

Media Madness — Monday Blogs

Published by:

The media to me seem insane, idiotic, and down right boring. Most media outlets become very repetitive, it’s a constant reem of news stories that don’t matter, or stories that have been copied from elsewhere—to me, that isn’t journalism, that’s just being a copycat of original stories.

It is a shame that I cannot name a few of the media outlets that do this. Obviously they would be very annoyed with my opinion, but what I will say is, I am glad I don’t buy any of their papers. At least, if I view it online, it’s not wasting money on paper that would be better off wiping ones backside with. Please bare in mind, I am mostly talking about small paper media outlets that are in print.

But, putting my opinions aside and all the guessing. I think sometimes all media forms become very repetitive, they all have slow news days after all. For example, you know it’s a slow news day when they’re talking about people getting night vision in their eyes, or continuely going over the Jermery Clarkson Fracas. It’s boring, find unique content, and not stuff people aren’t interested in.

I much prefer the works of Barcroft Media because theirs are unique, and in some cases relate to a lot of people. This is the news I would rather read in all honesty.

Anyhow, rant over, catch you on the flip side.

Jay Mizz — True Talent

Published by:

I was recently fortunate to listen to a new artists album. Jay Mizz is an upcoming artist who is new to the music industry, but within him, he is a true talent!

We’ll Figure it Out Project details:

We’ll Figure It Out is a concept project to where Jay Mizz is learning the ins and outs of the music business and art while at the same time perfecting his craft. The project also has many features from Jay Mizz hometown so they can get a chance to be heard sonically. “It’s a “We” thing” Jay Mizz says, “hence the name we’ll figure it out”

Jay’s Bio:
Known for his witty wordplay and on-point delivery mixed with mesmerizing beats, Jay Mizz, born Ja’Mal Stewart, calls his sound and style as progressive Hip-Hop that combines realistic stories with hypnotic beats and skilled lyricism.

The Midwest rap renegade managed to amalgamate the skills of classic Hip-Hop with the bouncy, club oriented music of today while maintaining his integrity and realness. His subject matter does cover the harsh realities, but he goes out of his way to let his fans know that these things are to be avoided and not glorified. Jay Mizz accepts social responsibility and wishes to push the envelope when it comes to subject matter in Hip-Hop

TETRIS – THE RETRO GAME THAT INCREASES BRAIN POWER

Published by:

Hello reader, today I am going to be talking about a game that everyone knows well and mostly loves, if you are a gamer then this should come as no surprise that the game that I have picked to review/give my opinions on is none other than Tetris, I have recently re-discovered this game and find it brilliantly fun. Its such a simple concept but allows for such longevity when playing, more so than the games of today and right now I would probably say that I would play this against the newest Call Of Duty (whatever number they are at now haha!).

Now a bit about the game, the game was designed by Alexey Pajitnov and was released on June 6 1984, This game revolves around the concept of making matching rows with different pieces. That’s it!! such a  simple concept yet such fun, its definitely an addicting game in which when you play you really do want to get as high a score as possible, when you die you feel quite disheartened and want to play again, Theres nothing better than playing this game and making a perfectly even 4 block high row (which gains you bonus points!).

This game has also been said to lead to a thicker cortex and increase brain efficiency, when playing people have to use logical thinking and cognitive functions in the brain, a study of 26 adolescent girls showed this, long story short they got the 26 to play Tetris for 30 minutes a day over a 3 month period. For the full study check out the link here

A little fact about the game there has been a syndrome named after Tetris. The syndrome is known as the Tetris Effect and affects people who have played the game for a long time or continuously. Its basically when faced with a problem the person will find themselves thinking in terms of tetris. An example of this would be arranging shopping in the cupboards in a way or even as far as people actually hallucinating pieces in everyday life, luckily for me I haven’t seen any pieces in the real world yet although now I think about it, I do tend to try and stack thing in shelves neatly so maybe I am effected by it, all in all a brilliant game which will always have some value in gaming as long as it goes on, below I have a video of a pure Tetris god (watch to the end and be amazed!!!!)

Moving to a New House & Looking to Buy A Mattress Before Unpacking!

Published by:

When my wife was told by her work that we needed to relocate, we were excited at first to be moving to the Birmingham area. We had visited there several times and really loved the location. This was going to be an exciting move for us and I wanted to surprise my wife with something for all her hard work the last few years. She was still working crazy hours each day, so I was reluctantly put in charge of tying up all the loose ends in our flat before the home removal company came by to start packing. My plan was to surprise her with a new mattress on our first night in our new home, but this surprise looked much easier on paper when I started to try and put my plan in motion.

Imagine trying to shop and buy a mattress with tons of boxes all over the place, and a to-do list that took up several pages. I decided I was going to try and streamline the moving process and then dedicate some time to researching and getting that new mattress to the house the day we moved. I was lucky to find a local moving company that not only was going to move our stuff in one day to the new house, they were going to help pack and unpack our belongings too. This left me with some free time to start my search for a new mattress. Our old mattress was about seven years old, and my husband would wake up each day with severe neck and back pain as a result. I am a pretty active sleeper, so during the night I tend to roll around, and this makes it hard for him to get a quality night’s sleep too.

The first thing I noticed when searching to buy a mattress online is the sheer volume of different websites that all claim to have the best prices, largest volume, and variety of manufacture brands. I wanted to buy a mattress that was not only comfortable for my husband, but for me as well. I stumbled onto www.cutpricemattresses.co.uk that in addition to selling mattresses, also had a free mattress buying guide. This was exactly what I needed to help me with my search considering the company was located near Birmingham and not right around the corner. I read that free mattress buying guide from cover to cover and I discovered that the gel mattresses help to eliminate pressure point pain by conforming to the shape of the body and equally distributing the weight.

That was exactly what my wife needed to get a better night sleep. Additionally, I learned from the gel mattress buying guide that gel mattresses wrap you in comfort, and keep you from rolling around during the night. This was a double win, and I knew I had found the perfect mattress for our new home. Now that I had determined the perfect mattress style for us to buy, I needed to coordinate with the company to see if it was possible for the mattress to be delivered on or around the last Friday of the month. After I found the right size mattress for our frame, I was amazed how quickly the order process was. I was already at the payment page in a few clicks, much faster and easier than I had initially imagined. I was able to choose my delivery date, and even spoke with a representative from the website about taking our old mattress during delivery.

The day of the move had quickly arrived, and I must say I was being pulled in every direction that day. I forgot all about the mattress delivery scheduled for that afternoon. I was dealing with estate agents, my solicitor, the movers, and all the details of getting the utilities put in our name. My wife was at work and asked me to just coordinate the movers that day, when all of a sudden the mattress guys showed up. Not only were they extremely professional, they were the most efficient crew I had seen. They asked me where to place the mattress, then asked about the old mattress, and were quickly on their way. My wife didn’t realize what I had done until she returned that evening!

Fast forward a few months, she still is raving about our new mattress. Seems I did a good job for once!

Avantree Force 13000mAh Power Bank — Midweek Review

Published by:

I was sent this portable charge pack to review from Avantree this week. Happily named the force, and by nature it lives up to its name.

Before I start, please be aware that I DO NOT get paid to do this review, this is a 100% honest review, and contains ONLY my own opinions of the device.

The Avantree Force has a large battery capacity of 13000mAh, this will allow you to recharge your device several times from a dead position. During my tests I found that I could recharge an iPhone 6 eight times, which is astounding.

For the perpose of this review I drained the battery pack and recharged it twice to check how long it would take to charge from a dead charge. The result was as follows: 14 hours and 58 minutes. So, even if you leave it on charge overnight, you will have enough for the next day.

Let’s look at build quality. The device is made very well, very robust, and feels very strong. But, I will need to point out one minor issue I had. The device has sharp corners and I have found myself being stabbed by them, please bare in mind that I use this a lot in bed, so not everyone will have this same problem. With this issue in mind, I would’ve preferred curved edges, but this is a personal preference.

This device comes with a built in micro USB adapter which simply comes away from the side and you can plug in your device with no issues. You will also have an additional USB port to plug in other devices, iPhones or other devices, or even another micro USB device. One other thing to note, the DC IN is for charging the pack ONLY!

Here is the specifications sheet from Avantree:

Overall:

The device is fantastic, it takes less time to charge, charges two devices at a time, but the only thing I would change is the edges of the device to curved. I would still use this device regardless and I would certainly take it with me wherever I go.

4.5 out of 5 I rate this device, grab yours now!

More information about this device can be found HERE on Avantree’s website.

Tuesday Poet — The Coffee is Free

Published by:

Grabbed a coffee today,
The sweet caffeine goodness,
But I forgot my wallet,
And I couldn’t pay,

The cashier says have it on me,
I say thank you for your kindness,
A big sigh came from my lips,
I have a free coffee from a sexy bean tree,

I sat at the table with a smile on my face,
With amazement that I got a free coffee,
I looked down at my mug with glee,
Then I realise she gave me a latte,

I can’t go back for a replacement,
That would be rude and that isn’t me,
Don’t push your luck,
Or else you’ll wear that free coffee.

Human Respect

Published by:

This is something I need to address, it’s one of my pet hates, and outright, it boils my piss that people do this.

People who chuck morals out the window and treat people like a piece of trash. Even myself this week, I had an ex who wouldn’t respect my wishes to leave me alone. Those kinds of people do my head right in, and if that ex is reading this, then blooming sod off, you won’t be causing harm to my loving relationship.

Then there are those people who think women are sex objects, yet another thing that annoys me. A woman should be treated with respect, she isn’t a sex object, she isn’t a slave. She is a person that wants to be loved, women have feelings too, they aren’t sex toys to be used at someone’s whim or fancy.

Sorry for the anger, but I have morals and respect. Some people in this world need to be locked up until respect people. Damn, I wish other people were like me, the world would be a better place!
